Considering buying the RX-8, feedback please!

Hey all,
I have a couple of questions/assumptions I would like feedback on.
I have owned Mazdas in the past with satisfaction, and am considering the rotary engine for the first time. I am assuming that since it is a Mazda, I can expect general troublefree performance from the RX-8. Am I wrong?
I have read about some of the TSBs and normal anomolies, such as milky oil, flooding the engine, but overall there does not appear to be any big issues, if one drives the car normally and not spinning the rear wheels all the time.
I was very pleased with the ride and comfort, and want to know if I can look forward to a trouble free low maintence vehicle overall. What can I expect regarding normal PM to keep the car running without issues?

What say you, enthusiasts?

The financing guy when I bought mine was trying hard to convince me to buy an extended warranty for around $650 as I recall, asking how long would I keep the car. My answer was 'forever?'. I didn't buy it. I've had 4 RX-7s, all normal asp, no turbos. I expect this car to be at least as reliable as most 1st and 2nd gen RX-7s and my 91 Protege was and my 90 Miata is - which is to say virtually trouble free, even for a 1st year model. Yes, some have had problems. If that's your only concern, buy the 8! And keep the oil fresh and fairly full. search the forum for more on oil questions and answers...
