I have some advice. Use the search function and quit being lazy. There are a million threads about intakes.

You wont get a cai for cheaper than 300. Put a K&N filter replacement and call it a day as many have done.

And FYI, the stock setup is already a cold air intake. As you are doing your research, ask yourself what you are looking to get in return on the investment, and then research some more.

Brettus that sensor on the top that is part of the original air intake

does it just screw off and u can bolt it onto something else?

or does a light in ur car come on?\

Johnvx1k 01-17-2012 11:33 PM

Are you talking about the mass air flow sensor?

If so thats just held on by some screws. Aftermarket intakes have slots for you to put it back on. So you just take it off the oem intake and switch it over to the new one.

Wala, for under 10.00 bucks.. for a few bucks more, just throw alittle dry ice in the air box and there you have it. I dont know why didnt come up with this. absolutely high-end concept.

FYI... Brettus is joking. Or at least I hope he is. ;)

What exactly are you looking to get out of this investment?

Why is it so hard to get a straight answer in this forum.

Way to go guys.

Why not be nice to the noobies?

It's a great question!

And Brettus I expect more from you, especially after all the great products I've purchased from you

--edit--
And don't go on about the post being in the wrong sub forum ... how the hell is a poor noob suppose to know, huh! HOW!?

Maybe if I used the dual head intake instead of my K/N Short Ram it would fix my idle issues!!

Bro, bro, I got you.

To give you a straight answer: if you can't afford to do a mod right, then don't do it at all. The '8's stock intake is already optimized so if you can't dish out the money to replace it with a reputable brand (although you still might actually lose power) then just stick with stock. Save your money for repairs and maintenance.
