clutch problems (please help!)

i have no idea what the problem is so ill be as specific as possible

k so today i drove my 04 8 (exedy clutch if it matters) to school and it drove fine like normal. i have a 15mins class break so i went and sat in my car with some a/c on (of course it was sitting in neutral). After my next class i hopped in to go home and the clutch felt very light and i couldnt get it in gear without pushing rediculously hard. finally i got it in gear and made it home, but when ever i came to a stop and came out of gear i couldnt get it back into 1st or even 2nd for the life of me, and also even though the clutch was all the way in the car still pulled forward. I got home and did some reasearch and went to try to start it and when i pushed in the clutch it went completely in with complete ease and wont come back up unless i manually pull it.

Tow truck is comming tommorow and im worried about a trans. shop trying to get me to buy a whole new clutch when it could be something much smaller.

Anyone with the same expirence or ideas/solutions?
thanks in advanced!

Bleed your clutch.
Probably air in the line.

Or you gotta leak and no clutch fluid, check the resevoir for fluid. Youll need to bleed the clutch as stated^^ after you fix the leak and refill the fluid, if you have a leak.

So you still have the problem? Cause you didn't give a definitive diagnosis in your post

Nah, I JUST went through this. Pedal would fall to the floor, and would only actuate nearly all the way in. The only way to get it to return to normal position was to pull it up with my foot.

Turned out my clutch bracket had been shot. Inspect your bracket, and then reinforce or replace the assembly. Also when I did reinforce my bracket I had to adjust my clutch pedal as well.

Slave or master has failed, or the line has gotten air in it or leaked out fluid.

You can try and reinforce weld it yourself, or you can just order the barcket reinforcement kit.

I've heard it both ways. When mine went, I could still get it into gear, it was just extremely hard. It was actually a bit hard to get it into gear before it failed, too.

To buy the bracket it's 108.87 shipped. I'd go for the welding too, and it's probably a good way to go, but to me that doesn't fix the initial problem that the metal is still too thin. This means it will still flex, I had the bracket in my hand and was bending it with my fingers, it feels like a heavy duty soda can.

Thankfully with the brace tho' it won't adversely flex at the historical spot weld points of failure.

This should answer any questions:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-clutch-pedal-bracket-removal-fix-170387/

The aftermarket bracket is from Fluid Motorsports if you decide to go that way.
