Check engine light is on.

Yesterday my check engine light came on. It was fine the whole day until after I turned the car off for the 2nd time during the day (didn't drive hard). Once i started the car, the light was on. The car drove fine without any apparent issues, pulls fine and sounds fine.

I did do the intake box mod. Took out both walls and one screen. I didn't reset the ECU because the car idled and drove fine. I did the mod a few days ago and logged over 100 miles with the mod.

Anyone want to guess the issue and solution?

Could be the same problem I was having could be a a wide open intake valve. I drove my car hard until it fixed itself =]

Take off the gas cap and then screw it in more than 5 clicks and see if that helps after a couple of days. Get the cel code at a gas station that services cars (just ask if they can do it when not busy free of charge).

Last but not least, break the light, problem solved.

If you wanna meet up somewhere tomorrow i can read the code for you.
But with the way the evap system self-check works and the driving cycle you did, I wouldn't be surprised it's a "gas cap" cel.

Agree. The Racing Beat intake is designed for one screen, but not the stock. Taking out the two plastic walls is no problem tho'.

But as cited, this CEL is probably just the gas cap. Half-dozen clicks just to be sure.

I left one screen in. I took both walls out though.

The CEL light went off the day before yesterday as if some sort of miracle happened.

Thanks for the offer. Just my luck, the Infinit's CEL came on the day before the RX8's CEL came on. It's still on for the Infiniti .

Gas cap loose, Cat going bad, and/or O2 sensor(s) going bad are the likely culprits across most brands.

I've had one gas cap and several O2 sensors go bad since ECU's came on the scene, but never had a Cat go on me.

Of course the more you play with mod's .....

Damn computers.
