j/k :p

EDIT: But seriously, I would like the under-powered manual to be for sale in North America. That way, if someone buys a shift **** for it, I can buy their RX-8 5spd **** from them for cheap for my RX-7!! (which badly needs a new shift ****)
the underpowered (is there any other kind of rx8?) manual IS available in north america.

You're reading ahead - that IS coming, but for the 2006 model! It'll go with the hi-power engine (current 238 hp), and there will also be a 6 speed SMG transmission option in 2006.

Gordon

Is there a particular reason why there isn't a sticky for the M flash? Seems like it would help deter a lot of posts about flooding. A little more RTFM.....

I'd like to see the option packages changed. Leather without a sunroof for those of us who don't fit with the sunroof.

That's what I'm holding out for. If they don't change it, I'll just get the cloth interior, but it would be nice to have the option.

There IS a sticky - it's in the Tech Garage forum section - the place for anything and everthing powertrain-oriented about the RX-8!

Kind of like my car, then? (In Canada, the GT package does not include the sunroof - there's only two factory options for the GT, sunroof and then Nav.)

Not that I want to drag out the flooding issue anymore then anyone else here but to say it's not a 'problem' is down playing the issue.

I know the rules so my car hasn't flooded but it sure was a pain in the butt the other day when I had to move my car 10 feet when it was cold and it took me 5 minutes just to go for a quick drive to make sure my car wouldn't flood. I still say this shouldn't be an issue for any MY2004 car.

Problem - yes
can I live with it and not experience it - yes
Would I like to have it fixed - YES !!!! (I know M flash)

Those who say the flooding issue isn't an isuue also need to remember that:

1) Accidents do happen (i.e. inadvertent stalls when pulling out of a parking space, for example.)

2) For better or worse, there are sometimes occasions when someone else must drive your car, most notably places that offer valet parking only.

Both of these situations could result in a flooded car despite your own religious adherence to the "Quick Tips" advice about shutting off the car before the engine is properly warmed up...

Those who say the flooding issue IS an issue need to remember that the M flash has drastically changed the way the PCM handles cold starts, and made it pretty much impossible to flood anymore.
