.....I've never noticed it, damn..now I have to go see what your talking about.
|
ok to clear things up. here's what I'm saying
|
you can't, it's part of the whole console, it's painted plastic and not metal.
|
ok. plan on replacing it with carbon fiber. Thanks anyway

Believe the Mazdaspeed CF part is a full replacement piece and not a stick-on, which is why it's so spendy.
I damaged the gray radiused piece that sits outboard of the ashtray while changing out my single-disc CD player for the multi disc, and had to remove the entire assembly that Manok is asking about. Looks alarming when you first examine the drawings for the procedure, but today's snap-together car assembly technology makes it pretty easy. Basically, you start by removing the rear luggage pass-through piece and work your way forward. PM me if you really want the procedure. I may still have the shop manual excerpts around somewhere. |

Check this thread for instructions. I beleive they are in four pieces and these come off with the instrcutions for removing the center console. Not as hard as it looks.

Thanks WHealy for the thread. I'll check it out this weekend.
