Cars with headlight washers + Mazdaspeed bumper
So since only the Canadian cars get headlight washers (I could be wrong with my assumption...), I'm wondering what the best way to go about installing the mazdaspeed front bumper. There are really only two ways to go about it doing it:
a) Remove headlight washer motors, put on new bumper b) Somewhow manage to (carefully) cut out the required holes in the mazdaspeed bumper Obviously option b) is probably not a good idea unless you want to risk completely ruining your kit... but are there bumpers that have these pre cut that I'm not aware of? Any tips? |

It just seems like such a waste though... are there no body kits available with this in mind?
I'm assuming trying to cut an appropriate rectangle through either urethane, plastic, or fiberglass is hopeless? |
Cut it. Headlight washers shouldn't be that hard to rig.

With a Dremel and a steady hand... maybe.
But do you really want to risk that? I'm not an expert when it comes to various body kits so maybe someone else will chime in with a solution. |
body shop.

I just removed my original bumper and plug the washer hose with a screw.

I saw a 8 parked with the Mazdaspeed bumper a few weeks ago here in germany. It looked like he just cut it and still used the factory washers. I would of snapped a picture but I didn't have my camera on me.

I smashed my bumper a few months ago, and the weather just allowed me to start fixing it. Since i lost the left headlamp washer and left foglight in the shenanigans, i removed them both - well, as removed as they can be. If you decide to keep the washers, and the new bumper is urethane, id say dremmel it. I want mine gone, so i took it all out up to the pump. Since im using a stock bumper, with the washer cutouts, im just gonna duct/electric tape over them. And you guys just reminded me to go pop the fuse too. Thanks
Anyone have any clever idea what to do with the washer hose/assembly? I saw someone rigged theirs to the back and would squirt tailgaters |
just use a dremel youll be fine

when you pull the fuse to disable washers, is it only the light washers that gets stop by that fuse? anything else gets effected? Do any dash lights come on?
|
Yes, only the headlight washers are disabled. And no dash lights.
I unplugged the hose to the washer tank right behind the passenger wheel well liners and removed the fuse when I installed my MS bumper without any issue |
anyway in showing me which fuse this is? I misplaced my owners manual. Thanks RX8soldier for the tip
