Cargo Net Installation Revisited

I was trying to install the cargo net and the top 2 locks go in fine, however the bottom 2 don't. I know there is a thread out there with hints to install this 2 pieces. I don't want to drill a hole and I tried the hamemr technique and it just won't go in. Does anyone else have any other ideas on how to install the bottom 2 locks? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure this is repeat info from the other thread, but here's my experience:

I found the lower holes have thin rubbery inserts. I used a smaller drill bit to extract these inserts. It only takes a couple twists of the bit and the insert wraps up on the bit -- just pull it out.

My lower two T-hooks are different from the upper two: they have a rubber expansion plug
rather than threads. The lower holes must be enlarged slightly to accomodate the expansion plug. Match up the plug with a bit (forget the exact size) -- the holes are in sheet metal, so be careful that once the bit goes through, the sheet metal can "grab" the bit and draw it deeper. Be prepared!

Once the lower holes are enlarged to match the rubber plugs, seat them in and turn the T-hook until snug. When inserting, be sure the rubber plug isn't expanded at all, just screwed down to the T-hook part enough to hold it all together. It'll expand nicely once fitted into the hole.

Done!

It literllay takes maybe five minutes to do the whole thing.

Hope that helps.

It ain't that difficult -- took all of 5 minutes.
