Car loses power?

Hello

My 05 rx8 loses power alot it seems. I always have to jump it. Last time I jumped it and it was fine, it started up. Now I try and jump it and it just cranks... Any idea why? Is it my battery? I live in pa for now and it's pretty cold. It has been sitting. Idk if it's the weak starter, battery, did I flood it?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

could be any of those things. where in pa? is it a stick? if its flooded you can pull start it if its a stick. you need to find the problem before it gets worse. get the batt checked. how many miles on coils, plugs, and wires? do you have the newer bigger starter?

I got this awhile ago and I'll have to call up Mazda to see if there was a newer starter added. (is there a way I can tell?) and it has 60,000 and then some on it. Coils and everything idk but I wanted them all changed anyways. The guy really didn't have any documents

I would begin by having the charging system checked. make sure the alternator is putting out the correct amount of voltage. Have the battery re-checked, it does not take much to kill one. Repeatedly discharging one is a sure fired way to accomplish this. This is where I would start.

Battery is at autozone now getting checked, when I did jump it , u couldn't start it. Just click and sounds like it wants to start. But it's getting checked. It's been 3 years on the battery but also has been sitting. And jump a few or more times

Just click and sounds like it wants to start.

Can you state your problem a little more clearly?

When you say 'click', is that the only sound you get and the engine engine doesn't crank?

What do you mean by "it sounds like it wants to start"??? does it crank and sputter like it's not quite firing properly??

How can an engine 'want to start'?

Guess battery was goin to shit , bought a new one , still not starting I'm pretty sure I flooded it after battery died. It just cranks nothin more. I'll try to deflood it and see if it works

Update:

Problem sovled: I guess it was flooded. I just pulled the fuel fuse and cranked it a few times while pushing on the gas peddle then I plugged the fuse back in and cranked it some more times and finally it started again.. :) I love you guys.

I have a question also, what if I stalled the car... is there a way I'm suppose to go about this to not flood it or would it not matter if the car is warmed up?

and I found this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/flat-battery-because-fuel-relay-stays-134679/ Is this something I should be concerned about it, since my battery did go flat?
Thanks

As I understand it. Your flooding was caused by a crappy battery not having enough amperage to give the engine sufficient rpm's to start. As a result you were dumping fuel in the engine and flooded it as a consequence of the low battery. If the condition persists however you will want to look at Coils, plugs, and wires. If all is working as it should, you should just be able to start the car normally. Glad you got it working.
