Can I Check Your Car Out? MN

Hay guys,
I am trying to buy myself a new Rx8. I live in Minnesota and I am in high school. I was looking if there is anyone here that lives in Saint Paul and would let me checkout their car and mods so maybe when I buy my car I can know what to get.
Also I really just want to checkout an RX8 and Saint Paul has no Mazda Dealerships.

But I am getting my car soon, and have been saving up for it. I have $15000 for it, and have been saving since freshman year in High school... I am a Jr now. So a mentor that lives in my area would be nice.

Anyone?
Thanks,
TD
P.S I love the RX8, but a little sad that it cannot beat my friends Evo in a race :(

I live in Mpls if you ever want to drop by. I had a 2009 and traded it in.. loved it so much I just got a 2004 for a daily driver. Its in medium condition and stock except window tint.

Lol I wish I could.
This would be my first car. So I dont drive just yet.

Like I said "No Mazda Dealership in Saint Paul or Minneapolis"/

dshiznit1489 09-25-2010 07:33 PM

You said you have 15k saved up for an 8. Did you calculate how much insurance and gas will cost you as well? Let's say you want a decent condition 8 with about 40-50,000 miles on it; depending on the year it would cost you around $10.5-12.5k. Now gas for one year normally runs about $2300 iirc, and insurance -at least in my case- is 1200 a year. So add that up and the total for the first year of ownership is 15k exactly. (11.5k + 2300+1200) Now factor in the mods you want to buy and more gas expense and insurance for next year etc.

Is it really a smart buy? No.

TeenDriver 09-25-2010 07:36 PM

Dont worry... I stopped saving for a while. I make $900/week, so gas is surely not a problem ;)

dshiznit1489 09-25-2010 07:38 PM

Have you gotten an insurance quote yet?

TeenDriver 09-25-2010 08:02 PM

Yes, its 190 a month.
Linked with my moms car, brothers, house and more.

Sandhofer 09-25-2010 08:03 PM

Insurance will be sort of high but if you like the 8 it is totally worth it. Have you checked craigslist? I found mine on there! On a side note.. go manual if you had not made up your mind yet..

Tweek 09-25-2010 08:26 PM

if you dont mind me asking... how the hell can you possibly make 900 a week as a high school jr.

Im a junior as well with an rx8 and i make like 800 a month dude wtf

Looks pretty close to st paul to me.....

And it looks like there is a dealer on the north side of Minneapolis also. Why do you think there wouldn't be a Mazda dealer in that large of a city?

Ya, thats where my mom got her car, and its in Burnsvaille... which is not in Saint Paul or Minneapolis.. Like 30min away and since my mom hates the idea of me driving, I am banking on having a friend take me places and 30min drive is a little hard to bargin with them :)

Whats the advantages of Manual? I have been thinking of learning to drive that way (Which would not be hard).

Lol Well if you know your way around a Computer and a Smartphone... You make a lot of money. $50/hour worth of money ;)

Rotor Gunnin' it 09-25-2010 08:39 PM

That didn't answer his question. I guessing you jailbreak I-phones or something along those lines?

Sandhofer 09-25-2010 08:47 PM

I would look into the forum for more in depth advantages of manual vs auto, but I can tell you the auto is a lot less powerful .. and slower. I have been in both like many others and just about everybody agrees manual is the way to go. It is worth learning!

:) making money doesn't make a guy not cheap....
But true, I just talked to them and we are going to every dealership (Toyota, Ford, Mazda) to see what car I like best.

True,
But no,
I work as a computer assistant. So I help people having computer issues and problems along those lines. I also write as an editor for a few web sites... (xda-developers.com, wmpoweruser.com, droidforums.com). But I did not include the money from that in the amount of money I make a week, because if I did... then I would feel like a rich prick at 17.

TeenDriver 09-25-2010 09:18 PM

If I can get my car to look that cool. Rims, Mazdaspeed body kit. And sound that beastly...
Then, I would be happy and use it through collage... I asked the guy what he has in it... but didnt get a response yet.

Tweek 09-25-2010 09:26 PM

Honestly you cant get all of the enjoyment out of your rx8 unless you buy a manual, no offense A/T's lol.

I bought my rx8 without knowing how to drive stick when i was a sophomore, learned in 3 hours. Trust me, do it.

its ok everyone's got a jewish side to them, they just tend to come out on different occasions.

yea the rx8 is my first car and is the only car i've ever owned. i got it when i was 16 and am now a sophomore in college. its just as fun to drive now a days as it was back then.

Kaiser bun 09-25-2010 09:47 PM
