A/C always cycling when HVAC is turned on
Ok I've got a strange question here - my air conditioning compressor continuously cycles when the HVAC system is on at all. Regardless of the setting or the temperature (and yes the A/C light is off, not on defrost) the compressor will come on for 8-10 seconds every 20-30 seconds. Is this normal? How do I control that?

Do an "Advaced Search" on A/C compressor cycles

any time you have floor selected, in any combination of vent choice, the defroster runs. no matter if the light is on or not. anytime the defroster runs, the AC runs/cycles. whether the light is on or not. this is in the owners manual.
solution: don't select floor. alternatively- keep your foot in it. any time you go wot, the ac compressor is stopped. |
Does anyone know if the temperature control knob varies the A/C cycling rate at all, or is the cycling simply governed by a fixed thermostat?
I always thought the temp knob only controlled the warm/cold blend door. |
