ive been reading for a while, and im looking for a new car in the range of 28 thou. one thing that i get scared about is all of the rumors about rotaries ive herd both good and bad. It seems like alot of rxs are having trouble coming out of the dealership, is it prone to things like flooding and random electrical appliances?

So very seldom that a new make of a car that roll out from the factory are problem free. I’m quite sure you’ve heard of the recent Nissa worldwide recall. With a post like this, you'll either get responds that are "I've no problem with the RX at all" or "I've an engine just being replaced". 2 very extreme answers. You mentioned you've been reading for a while, I think you might want to keep on doing so, there're so much to read and learn on this forum. There are many RX owners who are out there driving around happily with their problem free car, and these guys don't come to the forum till they've encounter some sort of problems and hoping to get a solution. That explain why many posts you've read here seems to be complaining or reporting of a problematic RX they have.
There are many reasons one will consider when making a purchase for a car, do you WANT it, or do you NEED it. Of course in the ideal world, it would be nice if the car you want is the car you need. My guess is a lot of the 8 owners here bought the car with their HEART rather then with their HEAD. So ask yourself that, if reliability is what you're looking for, could you live with a Toyota.

And I'm not sure what you mean by electrical appliances- it doesn't come with a toaster, but several people have had the CEL light come on, some with legitimate results and some with problems like the gas cap loose.
