Someone please give feedback as I am wondering the same. Do you know how much it cost?

No.....I have very seldom heard of some one glad they bought it. It's hard to get anything covered, they fight it and make you jump threw thier hoops. It's not a Mazda extended warranty it's a third party.

All non-manufacturer warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on.

One of the biggest aftermarket warranty companies filed for bankruptcy 11 months ago.

Even if the company is still around, they'll fight you tooth and nail and deny any coverage.

Either get a Mazda warranty, or forget about it.

i believe it depends on your dealer but around 2-3k

that also depends on the coverage you choose

Stick to the Mazda one , most of those others are just going to give you the run around and you'll end up paying out of your pocket .

i am talking about the mazda one. the coverage that i can get through the dealer

does anyone have insight on this?

be careful, just because you are getting the warranty through the dealer doesnt mean its a genuine "mazda" warranty. like the factory one, just extended.

its usually handled by another company.

all extended warranties are trash imo. 2-3k. if something goes wrong, that 2-3k should be able to pay for it. the only thing that would be really expensive is the engine, and thats warrantied for 8years/100k miles.

I bought the extended on my Yukon, and it was well worth the $1200 I paid for it (ended up with a new tranny, transfer case, etc, etc). I forget who that was through, though, and it was prob about 10 years ago. I'm sure the company has folded by now

Seems to me a third party would be better than the Mazda warranty. Other than the typical TSB coverage, I've had to fight/scream/claw only to constantly have dealers and Mazda deny coverage, or claim that the cause is a wear item. I laugh when Mazda extends their own warranties. That just gives them a few extra years to dismiss your claim.

I actually bought the Easy Care warrenty through my dealership, and cancelled it after a year or so. I did get a refund on it,, but I dont believe it was worth anything.

In order for everything to be covered I believe you have to prove you maintained the car, by having the dealership do everything including simple oil changes and spark plug changes. Spark plugs changes at a dealership are 400.00. If you didnt do any of the required maintenance as recomened, I believe thats going to be the excuse to say your not covered. Not worth it in my opinion.

Most owners got their warranties extended by mazda. Although, im not sure how extensive it is. Don't waste your money.

jiggawha1 07-28-2008 11:52 AM

your telling me that changing my own oil and plugs is grounds to dismiss a claim on warranty? Thats some straight BS....

Didnt think i would need mine but just the other day my coolent light came on, looked under the car and the radiator was slowly leaking coolent. Checked it and the leak was coming from the drain cap. Somehow a piece of the drain plug had fallen/broke off (the part with the phillips head to unscrew it) but the other part remained lodged up in the threads. Took to dealership, they couldnt get the remaining piece out due to possibility of damaging the threads and they tell me they HAVE to replace it...$700 installed. I have 55K on my car but i bought the extended warranty that covers it to 73K or something like that. Without the extended warranty they said i would have had to pay to get it done myself (or go aftermarket route). This is a VERY rare incident, but all the same, an example of being glad to have he warranty.

Yes, even with this the warranty still cost more but its just a piece of mind type of thing. I like to know that im totally covered to at least 73K should something more major happen, but it is prob unlikely. The extra warranty was something like $1800. As of now i have used up over $850 towards that amount due to this incident (extra for rental car coverage that the waranty also covers).

Having no documentation that the oil has ever been changed is a perfectly valid reason to dismiss a warranty claim. It's abuse of the car if you never actually changed the oil.

This is why I bring my car to the dealer from time to time to have some basic service stuff done. Get a service record in their computer. If they want to give me crap, I can pull all my purchase records from autozone too. (this would all be for regular warranty stuff. I don't have an extended)
