Body Shop/Service Advice

I have had my 8 in for body work for about a month now. The insurance adjuster was called out on three separate occasions to approve new parts. Every time this happens, it takes another week to get all the parts in. I still cannot get a clear answer as to when the car will be done. The insurance co. has left a check there for the work that I need to co-sign.
I am getting very frustrated. I also do not feel at all confident that this is happening as quickly as it should be, and maybe some sort of scam between the adjuster and the body shop is going on while my 8 sits there languishing without me...
Can I pull my vehicle out of there and bring it to another dealer/body shop - should I? How would I accomplish that? Help... I just want it back already...

PS This claim is on my collision since the person who hit me (their fault) was unlicensed and uninsured. grrr.

Who in the world do you have for insurance? Get on the phone and talk to your agent and tell him that this is not acceptable. The amount of money they are spending on a rental car for you could buy you a new 8 by now. Tell them that this has gone too far and you want answers now!

The insurance company (Nationwide) is claiming that they have been there, left a check and that everything is hunky-dory since they've done their deal.

The delay is more than likely with the insurance company. Nationwide is by far the worst insurance company to deal with in the Philadelphia region. They will do anything not to use new OEM parts, even paying more in some cases for the use of used or aftermarket parts than OEM. Insurance appraisers won't write for damage that they can't see, so each time the shop uncovers additional damage or needed parts they must call for a supplement and wait several days for the appraiser to come to the shop and approve the supplement. Because the RX8 is a new model parts availability may also be an issue. I've had my RX8 since August and our collision estimating software just added it to the April software update. Pulling your car from the shop after the work is started will just complicate everything and make the job take even longer. If you would like the car inspected after repairs are completed to make sure everything needed was done and the job was done properly you can call me at 215-628-3213. Our shop is in Ambler, PA
