Blue Roof Trim Moldings?
The roof trim strips are starting to come off my Blue 8. There just cheap little plastic pieces. The ONLY ones I can find though are aftermarket faux carbon fiber or chrome ones. Why no blue?
check this amazon link Amazon.com: rx8 roof trim moldings: Automotive seems strange. They are fifty bucks too! p.s. What is the technical term for this part? |
The technical term is ricer crap :)
The part you want is here: (roof molding W/O SUNROOF, winning blue) 2005 MAZDA RX-8 Parts - Online Mazda Parts |

You can't find blue? Just paint it blue yourself...duhh |
Ignore monchie, buy the right part and you don't have to paint it.

F151-50-9H0E-94 is the right in blue and F151-50-9L0E-94 is left in blue.

Yikes! 70 bucks for each side. And you need to make sure you get the right Winning Blue. I seem to recall that some colors had the same name but actually varied between years.
I'm with Monchie's idea of painting it yourself - then you can start with ricer crap for a lot less money. Ken |

Ken however winning blue is not phantom blue or stormy blue, or brave blue, or aurora blue... |

wow, 70 bucks. faux carbon fiber ricer crap it is!!!!!!!!!!!!! mazda shoots itself in the foot a lot, no surprises on this. Mazda's biggest barrier to success has always been mazda. If they made this part cheaper and the passenger side airbag cover cheaper they could make some cash, and keep more of these cars on the road in better condition.
I see a lot of cars that have black hood trim moldings...just not this car. |
