fuck this no spare tire shit lol

tried to put a 2010 Mazda 3 spare on but wouldn't clear the brakes...

now my car is spending the night in a random parking lot until i find a tire for tomorrow :(

that sucks man. there IS a spare tire that gets mounted in the rx-8's trunk...your car just didn't come with it

was it like a full on blow out or a puncture? i recently was the lucky recipient of a screw in my tire and it wouldn't hold air for more than a block or so. took the wheel/tire by itself it to the tire shop but as i feared, it was too close to the sidewall for them to be able to repair it. i just plugged it myself using a kit from the local auto parts store. while not a permanent fix, it worked for the time being. only took like 5 minutes to do max + time to air my tire back up. just aired the tire up and drove on it until they could get in my replacement tires. now i just keep the tire plugging kit and an air compressor in my trunk just in case :)

I took my spare tire out of my truck to save weight. And it also gave me like 583939 times the trunk room.

I got the kit with the car that has that liquid you put in the tire to seal it up if something minor happens.

something minor like a puncture, if you use the kit you need to replace the tire after.

Where are you located? I've got a Potenza with just a few hundred miles on it I'll let go of cheap!

the mazda 3 wheel wouldnt cover the rear brakes? i dont believe it.

I opt for AAA, saves weight, leaves trunk space, and is useful in many other ways (including lots of discounts at places). It is more of a pain to wait on a tow for a flat, but I have normally taken the spare out of my other cars anyway.

well i tried to put the spare in the front and move the front wheel to the rear so it size differences wouldn't fuck the rear diff.

if you had put the mazda3 spare on the rear tire, it would have fit. the mazda3 spare is a 16" rim. 16s will clear the rear brakes, but not the fronts.

you seriously couldnt figure that out? and really.. who the fuck cares about the diff when all you are trying to do is limp home?

LOL...I had tire issues the first 10K miles, first tire screwed with less than 1K miles on it, nail in the side wall compromised the tire...new Dunlop $293 plus tax. Two thousand miles later, on my way to work at 6AM I run over a caster from a chair or piece of furniture, completely screwed the steel belt, another $293 plus tax. Day after Christmas 2008...took the 8 into the shop because service engine light came on, foggy, cold and dreary after hitting the mall for day after Christmas sales and what this time, the top half of a house key...screwed the belt that tire too. I swear I thought those Dunlops had some kind of magnet in them to attract all the miscellaneous stuff in the road. Needless to say almost an entire set of new tires with less than 10K miles on the car. I have since bought a used wheel off of ebay and mounted a tire (not a Dunlop!) and it goes into the trunk if I go on the road. Wouldn't you know, not an issue since I did that!

You need to invest in some road hazard insurance.

Like above i always use the autozone tire repair kit and seal the tires myself. It says its not permanent but it has always been permanent for me :)
