Black-cherry vs white
had my shinka for about a year now, for those who dont know, comes in a black-cherry color. I know some people at a local auto/body shop, do a lot of fab work and painting. I was always in to white cars, and the rx8 looks sick in white, with some glossy black rims, damn.
question is how do you guys feel about taking this "limited edition" shinka, and changing it up? will it decrease in value? pros? cons? thanks in advanced. |
Don't bother with the cost.
1: The 2005 Shinka in Black Cherry is a limited edition, and more valuable in it's original unique color than it is in white. 2: 2006 Shinka's were one of a number of colors, including white. You wouldn't be doing anything all that special. 3: It's probably cheaper to trade it in for a WWP 2006 Shinka than repainting your current. |
Here is a WWP 2006 Shinka (claimed, chromed stock rims certainly help validate it unless they swapped)

If you're looking for a white car that is otherwise the same as yours, do as RIWWP says. If you're looking to do something a little different (I dont know - add a body kit, or do a custom job) then go ahead and paint yours. It shouldn't depreciate the value of your car, but it will show up on a CARFAX report. I've always wanted to see an 8 in Satin White (or ANY satin color that isn't black, for that matter) so that's my suggestion. :D: Especially if you know someone in the business...

^ What they all said.

Just keep it in it's original color. It might decrease the value of the car and it might lose the limited edition value as well. It's really up to you anyway, it's not our car, it's yours...to each, their own is what they say.
