BHR Ignition Kit Refresh (Old Style)

I've had the older style BHR Ignition kit on my SII since 2012. Is there a need/time that I should replace the coils or wires? If so, where do I get them? Seems like BHR only has their new plug and play coils available on their site.

Why didn’t you ask him instead?

Charles is really quick about responding, send him an email.

I'm curious also.
I imagine he's not listing the old GM coils because he wants to sell the new kit, but I hope he's still helping owners of the old set like he has in the past.

For my 2008 40th Anniversary Edition RX8 I upgraded to the new coil set from BHR, even though the older BHR set still worked fine after more than 10 years. I just wanted the incremental improvements. I am keeping the older set as a spare. Cheers and thanks Charles for improving an already legendary product.

Just email Charles from BHR and ask him when it will be available, they aren't discontinued they are just being updated it looks like. He provides great customer service, and will probably get back to you super quickly.

I think the new style does away the brackets and wiring harness. Almost stock like.
Anyway isn't the reason to go with BHR coils is to not have to replace the coils?

Correct in that new style BHR coils attach to OEM bracket and wires. They look and feel great and highly recommend these. Note the 5 year warranty period down from the older style of 10 years from memory. I honestly think these will go hard for a very long time. I am very happy with them. And yes these cost me my left arm to import to AUS with a poor exchange rate and all.

I had the older BHR set and it ran great for ten years. I upgraded to the new BHR set and they are superb. I think the new set has worldwide compliance now and does fit in easier. I have nothing but praise for Charles of BHR. This is the number one most bought aftermarket kit for RX8 and they are truly bulletproof and worth every penny IMHO. Cheers
