Best ipod FM transmitter for rx-8..
Ok so I don't have the money to upgrade my stock head unit in my 8, but I want to use my 120gb ipod in it. So I'm going to settle on sub-par sound quality through a FM transmitter. I have read that the griffin itrip and the DLO transpod have the best sound quality in most cars. They say it is very dependent on the particular car model and the head unit in the vehicle. Does anyone have any experience with one that worked fairly well (little to no static)? I'd rather make an informed buying decision then return a bunch of transmitters that suck ass..

I'm not to sure what would be best, but I hate Griffin products. Anything i've ever had from them broke within like 2 days. So anything is better than Griffin.

Would HIGHLY recommend not getting a FM transmitter.

If you don't have a choice..
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/rev...ew_grades/C204 I'd suggest the XtremeMac, Belkin, or Kensington. The Kensington has bee noted to be great by a lot of reviewers. However, even the best FM transmitters are subject to some static/loss of quality. |

i use the griffin itrip for my sansa. it's not perfect but it works fine. it'll never be direct-connect quality but i don't need that at this point. i wouldn't recommend it but i wouldn't cast my vote against it either.

$110 for a hardwired solution. no static, DIY install, skip songs from steering wheel. |
my sister has a monster that works really well in her mazda3. But for the price of it you could add an aux input. Which is what I would do. I've tried both, and the aux just sounds sooo much better

monster was perfectly fine for me.

How does one go about adding said aux input?

SEARCH! If only my package was as big as your ego  |
Well, if you have an ipod, then you can get the mazda ipod integration thing, which allows for the radio controls to seek and skip tracks on the ipod itself. I got a car2pc for my carputer in the works, and it has an aux jack and a usb port for the stereo to control the computer. It was like $80 and that's roughly the price of a regular aux jack for this car. Search around, there are multiple threads that can help. But one thing to be sure to do is check your firmware before you buy anything and make sure it's compatible.
hope this helps. |
How much would a aux input cost from Mazda?
|
^a lot more than you would want to pay

I like Harmon and Kardon one of the nest Fm transmitter! :D
http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-2/...=US&market=CAR it sounds good but not as good as a CD or AUX from a scale from 1 to 10 I say 8 :D |

I have an FM transmitter, i regret it. Just pay the extra dollar and get your ipod integrated.
