Best Father's Day Present Evar?!!11

If you'll notice my post count and history on this board you'll see I'm mostly a lurker/dream owner. Well my wife changed that designation this morning. I slept in and was woken by her saying she wanted to give me an early Dad's Day present before we go out. I'm usually dead set against early presents for birthdays or Christmas and what have you, but she was pretty insistent. So I opened the hand made card she lovingly created which spoke of our last 8 years together which happened to fall close to Father's Day. Then I opened the book-sized present to find a mazda symbol on a neoprene binder. At first I thought it was a collector's edition RX-8 book or something I wasn't aware of. Eventually it sunk in that this was actually the real owner's manual! We went outside to find a Sport Package Titanium Gray 05 8 in the driveway. She had spent weeks if not months planning this surprise and even went without sleep last night so as to ensure her ability to get up at 6-am in preparation of picking it up. Gone is my 98 Civic sedan, and in its place is the car of my dreams. My wife is without a doubt the best wife in the entire world. WOW!

Man! She's definitely a keeper. It should be pretty easy to talk her into a set of strakes for your bithday. Enjoy your ride!

That's an awesome present. Very thoughtful and PERFECT! Damn, now when I'm looking for a wife, that has to be one of the criteria --> will potentially buy RX-8 for Father's day

Fantastic story. I can only imagine how long it took for her to plan this and how much effort went into it. Nicest thing I've heard in a long while...

Does she have a sister?

we're both paying for it. she handles the finances though, that's the only reason we can afford it. she is quite a wiz with numbers. we'd still be living with my mom and I'd be driving my old tercel if I were handling things!
she admits it's not likely to be topped so I think I have that going for me come next mother's day. her birthday is coming in a month too and I was already stressing over what to get her and do. ugh.
is it normal to constantly think about driving it the first few days?

You must not be married?? :D

If he's been bugging the wife to get one, then they can afford it, but she wouldn't allow the purchase. Now she allowed which = every husbands favorite words "Ok"
