Best Exhuast for RX8 under 1k
Which exhuast do you guys recomend?
|
Depends what you consider "Best" exhaust everyone has different tastes... HKS single tip sounds nice but it looks weird single, theres mazdaspeed, racing beat, xs, so on so forth
|
is there a thread somewhere on here that has sounds clips of the different exhausts? i think that would probably help the OP the most if there is one

Go to YouTube and you'll find several but not all.
There seems to be high-end ones and reasonably priced options with very few in the middle. If you are doing install then most systems are in your price range. Personally I like the options from ExoticSpeed. They have distinct sound and represent a new approach to accentuating the Rotary's rasp. Some complain that they are quite fatiguing with time though. Still I'm pretty much sold. |
Depends on a lot of things. Is noise an issue for you? For me, it is. The cops here in VA will ticket you for anything. I knew I couldn't have both a cat-back and a cat-less midpipe, so I went with what gave me the most power: the midpipe.
I've heard great things about the Agency Power header-back system (loud though), all Racing Beat exhaust components, the HKS Hi-power cat-back, and the BHR midpipe. The BHR pipe and HKS cat-back combo is less than $1K and you will gain some power as well as lose a good amount of weight. Don't forget about the TurboXS header-back system. Very cheap and supposedly very good quality, but like the Agency Power system, its extremely loud. |

my suggestion: read the suggestions above and do some reading on here, watch some videos, and make your own decision.

Just picked up CorkSport's cat back. Looks and sounds great. Great bunch of guys there too. Customer service is awesome.

OP, the one thing you should remember is that the sound on some video clips can be deceiving. Some camera's have better sound quality than others, but watching and listening to clips is a great way to find the sound you want. Good Luck |
Honostly if you can afford it the borla is your best bet. They have been tunning and testing performance and racing exhaust systems for a very long time. They dyno, and adjust the pressures created to provide maximum performance. heres a link for you.

again everyone has different taste, but for me the greddy SE was best because it has a nice deep tone and isn't TOOO loud
|
i have the ap header back, ordered from thmotorsports. loud but i love it. shoots flames and looks great.
|
I just don't like the popping you get from the flame shooters. I like smooth sound.
|
I have the Agency Power Header back and I love it. It is louder and pretty aggresive sounding, but I like it. Best bang for the buck I think esp since you get the Midpipe, too.
|
Racing Beats Racing Exhaust system if you want to save weight and have a moderate sound that only announces your presences when you're really on it. I've listened to several clips and its currently the exhaust I'm saving for. I was gonna go with the HKS Legamax while it sounds great just doesn't seem to be the exhaust for me.
|
I LOVE the flame throwing exhausts. A rotary powered car is the only car that I think should breath fire under $90k though. Same reason why it's (sort of) appropriate for it to chug gas.
BTW are there particular exhausts that will ignite more fuel out the tailpipe than others? I mean yes obviously but any significantly more? |

The beauty of the igniting of gases out the tailpipe with the 8 is how authentically it occurs. |

I would either get it or a hks hipower, they're both pretty light and weight is all you should consider since there's not much power to be had. |

yo check out the flamez yo.
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/235...imcontinue.jpg I was thinking about getting the racing beat one, if your looking for a subtle noise gain then thats probably the one. I cant really tell any difference between the two in this video, RB is just barely louder. I think he is revving higher when launching with the RB exhaust. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9FJ0i_tLPA |
