Battery went dead. Reset Everything?

Hey guys!

Just a quick curious question I have. I had - what turned out to be - a lose connection to one of my battery terminals, so the battery didn't get to charger while I was driving home.

Anyways, after I got a jump-start and drove home, one the way that whole time the traction light and the DSC light was on the whole time. I read up about it and I didn't find anything about it happening due to a battery issue. Anyways, got the connection fixed and it's alright now.

But do I need to worry about anything being reset? Like should I take it to the dealer or anything or is she good to go? It reset the clock, etc and the ABS light tripped out for a second. IDK, just seemed like it had a fit.

Let me know what you think

Thanks!! :chomper:

Disconnecting the battery IS the reset!

A few feet of rolling will re-learn the TCS, turning the steering wheel from lock to lock will re-learn the DSC. A few drive cycles will relearn the fuel trims. A few minutes with the engine on will relearn the e-shaft profile.

It may have a rough idle until the fuel trims are re-learned, but you shouldn't notice anything else. Disconnecting the battery is not something to be feared on these cars, and certainly no cause for alarm or dealer fees.

There is a TSB on the DSC light after loss of power, which describes how to make it turn off. Turning the steering from lock to lock sound familiar. You can find the TSBs in the technical sub-forum.

I just changed the battery on mine, and reset all the lights that turned on after installing a new battery.
