back to oem exhaust.. CEL wont turn off!!
went back to my stock mazda exhaust, have to do inspection within 2 weeks,
anybody know why my check engine light might stilll be on? sensor should be alright.. do i have to do something to the computer to reset it???:dunno: |
you need to clear the CEL. disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes.
ill try that.. thanks
You could buy cheap OBDII scanner on eBay as well.
It takes a couple drive cycles for the CEL to turn it self off or you can just do the battery thing.
Battery!!!

the cel might not be related to the exhaust. just because it came on during this time it could be from something else.
Find out what the code is, then. It may not be the exhaust. Also, do they fail you if your CEL is on?
for sure they dont pass you if cell is on.. how do i find the cell code? do i need an obdII reader?
you can do to autozone, oreilly or advanced auto parts and have them scan your code. Yes it is an obd2.
^yes......and it's free
i have this sameee problem.
i did all you guys said, checked the code which was "P0037 Ho2s Heater Control Circuit low (bank 1 sensor 2)" cleared it... then came back im also back on my stock cats and exhaust |
to lazy to read through the other posts... but the battery reset thing no longer works (in tx atleast). If you take your car in for inspections and they read the computer has recently been reset its a fail, atleast it happened with me
