Babes in Toyland? Time to vent

I read alot of threads on this board where the topic is "I beat that Mustang" or " I blew the doors of the STI at the light". Was wondering while you were out there trying to prove your manhood is actually big enough to please a woman do you think about the innocent people on the road that you could kill? The only places you should be racing in on the track...period.

Have a nice day I feel better.

Wow, I don't have any manhood to prove (I have balls but not that kind), but I get a lot of people pulling up beside me thinking I want to race. They even cut me off or will not let me over when I need it. All because of the car I drive. And I'm a women. So it's a two way street. Of course every one besides me is a bad driver, ha ha ha.

djmano 03-03-2004 01:27 PM

lol. nice vent but strange thread title.

if anybody claims they blew the doors off an STi.....they are probably having dillusions of granduer and shouldn't be driving anyway! ;)

flatso 03-03-2004 01:32 PM

When someone tries to race me, and challenge MY manhood.. I usually put my car in park, step outside, discreetly drop my pants and undies, and show him my well endowed gargantuan manhood. Usually that 1) intimidates him from trying to race me, 2) Scares him off, 3) Makes him die laughing that he can't control the shifting correctly, thus giving me the extra 40 HP boost I need to beat him.

I guess I am the only with a short shifter

Flatso,

I do not race.. I do however tend to drive a bit faster than posted speed limits. I also pay much more attention to what's going on around me when I drive. If I try to drive at speed limits I tend to not pay as much attention, and sometimes have the bad habit of dozing off...

Also.. There are alot of drivers out there who put other people's lives in danger that never street race or even speed.

Like the 80 y/o who drive 15 BELOW the speed limit yet cuts across 3 lanes of traffic because they didnt see oncoming traffic.

Or the mother who is turned all the way around to put a binky in her baby's mouth.

Or the buisness dude on the cell phone AND typing on his laptop..

or the texan.......

that's all you really need to say...

I proved my manhood the day that I drove away from the dealership in my beauty .............

I own it, it is mine, all mine, and everyone else can simply stare and admire !

Wow- if you're seeing this stuff, you need to be reporting it because I've got some butt kicking to do- we don't allow street racing stories because 1) it's dangerous and stupid and 2) it leads to nothing but trash talking and trolling.

Lufa 03-03-2004 09:14 PM

I have seen some unlikely claims... but nothing on that magnitude. Plus what our Elara (everpresent moderator) said...

Please link the threads.

Nice car Lufa. I think I recognize the orange dealer tag as coming from Georgetown. Your car looks remarkably familiar. ;) I bought my Titanium Gray 6-speed GT four months to the day after you did.

On a related note...

I was returning home the other night after taking a visiting friend back to his hotel when I decided to exercise my car. I had just reached the magic break in mileage and decided to wind the car out a little bit. I was stopped at a traffic light, waiting patiently for it to change. After making sure the intersection was going to be clear when the light changed I decided this was my opportunity. The light changed and I promptly departed the light winding first gear out to around 8k. Making a rapid shift to second I continued my acceleration.

That's when I noticed the car in the lane to my left had decided he was going to have some fun as well. What was a simple jack-rabbit start for me turned into what could very easily be construed as street racing. I have no idea what caused this other driver to decide to race me. I did nothing that outwardly expressed a desire to race. I didn't rev my engine. I didn't wave at the guy. I didn't even know what kind of car it was until I followed him up the highway a few miles.

Realizing the very dangerous situation that this was becoming I very promptly shifted from 2nd to 6th and set the cruise a few MPH higher than the posted speed limit. The other driver, I guess after satisfying his need, simply took a position about four car lengths ahead of me and did the same.

With the latest legislature here in Texas, the punishments for street racing got much more severe. I have no desire to street race. Never have, never will. My immediate thoughts afterwards though did concern me. My simple decision to rapidly accelerate to the speed limit coupled with the other driver's decision to race me could have landed both of us in jail. It certainly wasn't my intent to race. My only regret is that I didn't recognize the situation for what it was sooner and simply not give the guy the satisfaction.

I'm hoping that my experience here isn't misconstrued as another one of those posts.

Pavehawk-

Same thing happened to me on the way home from work today- after 20 minutes of low RPM cruising, I hit one of the few red lights on the way home. Since I was first in line at the light, and 55mph zone ahead, I decided to wind my 8 out in 1st and 2nd to clean the carbon out when the light changed. There had been a big old nasty pickup in the lane next to me at the light that must have felt threatened, and comes barreling up to and blows right by me. I was thinking if a cop saw that, I would surely be the one blamed for 'racing', being the one in the sports car.

Definitely the down side to driving a "fast" looking car in a world of jerks... I shouldn't have to live in fear that every time I want to exercise my motor (maybe once or twice per day at the most) that the redneck next to me has a lead foot, too.

j1mb0x99 03-04-2004 07:22 AM

I have a street racing story for you flatso.
The other day on my way to work I was stopped at a light.
When it turned green I took off and I noticed this mom in her minivan right next to me! Man, that thing was fast! She must have had NOS or something! I know she had a couple of those soccer mom stickers on the back. And she was mean too... She kept swerving at me and throwing her kid's toys out the window at me! For a moment I thought she was actually gonna throw her kid out the window!!! you know, for weight reduction. Anyway, it was a close one, but the 8 did me proud!

Wait, that didn't happen. I'm lying.

He's not discussing his street racing story, he's asking if he hurt the engine by pushing it too much. Which is why I left it. Notice he's not trash talking about how he beat it or anything else.
