After picking up my new rx8 auto I noticed that the gear shift 'plate' (round circle area with gear info P, D, N, etc) is not lite up. Anyone know if it is a easy fix for the shop to get to the blub/switch wiring to fix this problem?

Would like it fixed at first oil change if possible.

 

Mine 2004 4 speed AT dont. In fact I dont think it ever did!

 

You have a digital indicator on the instrument panel that tells you what gear your in. It's a safety feature so you don't have to look down at the console. Thus keeping your eyes on the road ahead.

And if you believe that, then I have some turn signal lubricant I'd like to sell you.

When I picked mine, the light wasn't working either. I popped the clips loose, lifted up the consol plate and............plugged the wire back in.
