Ask about the factory engine core warranty
 

Hey! glad to see everyone here!

I just bought a used RX8 and it has 6yr history and 70k miles on it. I've heard there is a factory 8 yr 100k mi extended warranty for the engine core. Very interested in that. I wonder if I am still qualified for that, since this RX8 is a used one.

I tried to call the Mazda USA, but it seems they re never gonna answer it. I tried couple times and kept waiting for 5-10 min, then all I got back was"thank you for your patience". So I eventually gave up and came here hoping sb. can help me.

One more question is that, if I am still covered by the engine core warranty, any thing I should especially notice to prevent voiding the warranty?

for example, I know only 5W20 is recommended by mazda, but I live somewhere extremely hot and many ppl suggest me to change to 5W30. I would like to, but my major concern is whether this would void the warranty?

You're covered until the warranty is up, and as far as I know 5W-30 won't void the warranty. That's what I use anyway. Welcome, read the stickies, and post some pics!
