With the year ending what are good closing prices?

Well the end of the year is coming up and my decision to buy an 8 will come in November/December of this year. With the 2007 already in the market what type deals do you think one can get on an 8 at this time. I am aiming at a Red, White, Winning Blue, or Black 06 RX-8 with a factory spoiler and the GT package. I know the MSRP is around $31,000 for something like this.

My question is would throwing out low ball offers like $25k before license and taxes a bad offer? Could I get better?

Long Beach Mazda advertised all their 06 RX-8s at 7K off MSRP in last Sunday's LA times. You might want to check out their inventory. Better yet, consider going used and save a ton of money.

I dont know about going used because i dont want to get screwed over in problems with the car that i wont know about until after i buy the car. With a new 8 i will be able to decide what details i want with it. And if it comes down to it i could just buy a base stocked one.

There a 1500 cash back right now, plus $500 or 1000 cash back if you finance through Mazda Credit. Throw in $3K for depreciation hit, and you're around 25-26K before taxes and fees. So i think 25K-26K at Nov or Dec isn't bad deal for a loaded 06 RX-8. Also demand for the car isn't that high too so that works to your advantage.

I bought almost the exact model you're talking about around this time last year. Paid $24k OTD for it. 05, Grey, Base+Sport package, spare tire (ugh) rotary accent and spoiler.
