Apparent problem with the engine and my warranty is about to go!

So I bought an rx8 27days ago and my warranty from the dealer runs out tomorrow. I noticed some rattling (think the heat shield was loose or something) so I took it to the garage to get sorted and they also said the engine is a very poor starter. Now obviously I already knew that if you stop and start it a lot in a short space of time, like when it's being moved around a garage, it is a poor starter; however they said it could be anything from the spark plugs, to the starter motor or even the blades within the engine having worn down, although they can't see the blades. They're not rx8 specialists, so I was wondering how many of you have had this issue and discovered what the problem was? One of the mechanics tried to say it was definitely the blades and it was gonna go any minute, but I think he's just being overdramatic as he said that about my old W reg polo and it ran fine for the next 3 years until I p/x it for the Mazda! Any help would be great, they also discovered a hole in exhaust but only the engine and gear box are covered by the warranty :(

get a compression test done now. by blades im guessing you mean apex seals? how many miles on the car? a/t or m/t? what year? maintence history?

weak starts can be many things. weak ignition, weak battery, slow starter or worse case low compression. does it take longer to start when its hot?

If your warranty runs out tomorrow, you need to have the dealership check it out ... TOMORROW! No matter what anyone here offers for advice, if you're truly at the end of your warranty, I'd get it in there and let them look at it. At least make an appointment.
