Anyone uses/heard of Monroe Ceramic Brake Pads?

The CX1009 to be specific I guess.

I have never heard of the brand, but I actually found the deal on slickdeals.net

http://www.amazon.com/Monroe-CX1009-...tive&carId=001

Looks like a great deal
$22.11 per pad after rebate apparently.

Always nice to know the alternative options.

Monroe is like an OEM-replacement staple.

They don't make the greatest products but they are acceptable for DD Corollas and such.

I wouldn't put anything they make on my car.

Thanks, advice taken.

You get what you pay for....there is a reason why its $22.11 per pad after rebate

Yeah I wonder why ceramic was even used if the performance probably isn't even up to the OEM standard.
OEM brake pads are great, just noisy, and I'd hate paying for Hawks ceramic pads when my brake pads are a long way from being needing replacement.

I'm using Raybestos ceramics at the moment. The cost a little more than the Monroe. I'm not sold on their abilities. When you hit the brakes hard, it seems that there is a hesitation before they bite. I have a set of EBC's on the shelf that will be installed in the spring.

FWIW, brake pads are formulated to work best between a certain temp range. Most ceramics are at the higher end of the ranges.

Its amazing what little it really takes to make brake pads. Not like something someone would make in their garage, but the actual production process.
