Anyone know what's up with bdcmotorsports?
There website is down, there number is disconnected and Brian hasn't responded to Facebook post in like 7 months. Which really sucks for me since I had him build me an engine that is leaking oil everywhere.

Sorry to hear that man, pretty common story though, I know another guy in Houston who got an engine from him fairly recently that was DOA. But had you done some background on him here an on rx7club.com, you would have seen the writing on the wall.
Brian is a hack who screwed over one of my best friends royally out of a lot of money. He built a very expensive engine for my buddy that was DOA (idled for about 10 seconds) and is now a paper weight. The side seals looked like they were cut by grinding them on cement and the engine was basically a cluster fuck. He offered and gave no refunds despite coming to witness the tear down himself. He only offered to build it again (of course with my buddy buying all new hard parts). I knew he was a scum bag because I have talked to people who were screwed by him and I have been following him on rx7club over the years. But my buddy, being the super nice guy that he is, decided to give him a chance since many had spoke greatly of him and that ended up costing him big. Hard lesson learned. Brian worked out of a rented house with a one car garage and as far as I know, has never owned a well sorted out rotary in his life. He is a shade tree mechanic who managed to do a couple of decent port jobs, that is it. He is a joke of a tuner and a dishonest, and despicable man. He is the worst type of scammer, he seems like a nice guy and then when problems arise he never owns up to jack shit. Which is why he doesn't come around anymore in the rotary community. Well shit. I'm having my car towed to firsttowin in Sterling, Virginia tomorrow to see if anything can be salvaged. I planned on going with goofy performance but they were to busy when I contacted them. I could have kept my STi for what I put into this build.

There are definitely better builders in you neck of the woods. try contacting Kevin at Rotary Resurrection, he has fixed some of BDC's fuck ups in the past IIRC. He will shoot you straight. Also you may want to post of the in the regional forums too if there are any reputable local builders.

I do not do any tuning or custom fabrication. I am not really like all these import performance shops, I do more repair and restoration. People bring me cars and engines when they cannot find a competent and knowledgeable mechanic locally who can make it run like it is supposed to. As indicated on my website and in this listing description, I do offer remove/install service for $1000 in addition to whatever the shortblock engine rebuild costs are. I would be glad to try and help, however bear in mind that I am extremely limited on how many customer cars I can take in at one time. I currently have zero cars here, but I do have a tentative commitment from one customer who claims to be shipping a car to me from FL in the near future as soon as he can get it picked up by a truck. So that would leave me with only one available car spot, so if it is your intention to bring a whole car I advise that you move on that intention soon. When two cars come in I must turn all others away until at least one of those is complete and picked up by the customer, which can sometimes take a month or more. |
Getting the car back from the shop that was going to install next week. I'm gonna take stock of the situation before doing anything. I put a ton of money in the car and potentially buying a second engine has me pissed off--not your fault Kevin, just taking a breath and slowing down. I'll let you know when I'm ready to start the project again.

Sucks man, I am sorry to hear about it. I have been screwed over majorly before on an engine (not a rotary) so I know the feeling.
