anyone know if cali gets a diff version?
 

i live in cali and i know for a lot of the cars we get they are different versions, especially for us usually with a handful less hp or something due to a different cat to meet emissions... same rx-8 for everyone?

According the they guy at the LA Auto Show, CA cars will have additional emissions equipment, but he said that it wasn't going to affect the HP or performance of the car. Of course, he also was telling people that the car was going to begin shipping in September and that the base price was going to be $29000, but who's counting? :o

why does mazda or any car maker or their dealers have someone standing next to a car at a show giving oyt bad info. i would think, especially with the launch of a brand new vehicle, that the person would be instructed to give out certain accurate info and keep their mouth shut about anything else. i wonder how many people have decided to get a different car based on that preson saying there wouldn't be any until september. this goes along with my rather lengthy post in the other thread about my dislike of the dealers. people making up things when they don't have a clue instead of just saying they don't know.
