Anyone have a source where Mazda has published 0-60 times?

I was thinking, whilst on the can, about drag racing. I started to think about if something happened to the drive train while doing that. It occurred to me that Mazda 'may' have published the RX8's capabilities at some point. Thus, if Mazda shows the car can do 0-60 in, say, 6 second flat, and I attempt to run 0-60 in 6 seconds (think 7K rpm launch), the car should be able to handle it - under warranty.

Right?
:)

in their catalog for the Mazda RX-8...it states 5.9 seconds...but they have that information from another source...road and track magazine i believe?

I know it is publicly stated as 5.9 seconds in their 2005 brochure.
However, I believe it was R&T figure quoted with disclaimer?

Hmm....Thanks -

they dont give a 0-60 spec or guarantee one or anything. they quote the mags with a disclaimer.

Road and Track's performance table at the back of each issue says 6.0 seconds. I've seen a low of 5.9 and a high of 6.6. The 6.6 I read today in an online magazine at the Edmunds.com site.

Are we to assume your contributions are being made "whilst on the can?" I don't think I want to picture that. :)

Yeah, and monkeys might fly... well you know the rest of that one. :p

My little birdie told me today that there is a court battle in California concerning this. Some owner has challenged the fact that the advertising says the car can do it, but he is trashing trannies trying. I wonder where he read it?
