Any Insurance increases???

Hello everyone,

I am new to the club and this is my first post. I am going to be purchasing a new 2005 RX-8 in September and I wanted to know if those drivers under 25 years old, (I live in Texas) experienced an increase in your insurance rate when you bought your 8. I am 24 and I dont have a problem with paying a little extra for insurance on this car. I was just curious. I currently drive a 1996 chevy z71. Hope to hear back from yall.

Robert

My suggestion would be to visit one of the major auto insurance company web sites that allow you to do online auto price quotes without divulging personal information... www.allstate.com and www.nationwide.com for instance both allow instantaneous online quotes. Just give them your age, sex, martial status, zip code, and whether you have had any tickets or at fault accidents in the last five years, then input the car you are interested in driving and you should get a quote. This way you can get a apples to apples comparison between the RX-8 and your current car without having to leave the comfort of your computer chair.

Although I no longer fall in the 25 and under category, I can say my insurance didn't go up *much* when I upgraded from my old Nissan 240SX to my RX-8. About 15 dollars a month more for full coverage which isn't bad. But I managed this by shopping around using online auto quotes, and also used these for figuring out ballpark cost to own figures before I made my purchase to make certain I could afford it. I wasn't going to get caught having to trade in my baby siz months down the road because insurance / fuel / maintenance cost too much. :D

My insurance went up by 45% even after shopping around. However I went from driving a old Mazda Protege to a RX-8 and I am under 25 with a clean driving record.

I'm 24 and just bought my RX-8 last week. My insurance went down about $45 or so a month. I came from a '03 E46 M3. Most people said I was crazy.

Mine went up about 100 dollars every six months. I am 24 with a clean driving record (no tickets no accidents, Thank god). I traded in my 2002 Ford F-150 Lightning to get my RX-8. Good luck to you.
