any ideas on the"real" trade-in value of a ..

04 GT MT with 30K miles?
Silver, new SPT's and just had the 30K service done.

NADA says $17K but from a search I did on 04's on local lots, the high has been $19K.
Thanks for any help.

www.intelliprice.com is the best source for real world trade-in values...

of course you're always going to find a significantly larger price on lots than what a trade-in calue is...significantly more.

I'd say that $17K for a trade-in would be pretty dang good. Lots of people have been talking about trading their 8's in and getting less than $15K for it (04's). Although NADA says $17K, you'd be lucky to have a dealer initially offer that.

Just keep it.

I just a quote from the dealer I got the 8. I was considering trading my 05 B3000 Dual Sport for a 3. The truck was purchased a year ago and MSRP $23k. Perfect condition, NADA said trade in value was around $15k and the stealer offered me $9k. Is that about 70% deprecaition ?
Also they are offereing $1500 rebates on 07s 8s already.
My $0.02 worth

Mazda is about $2000 back of book right now. The only one doing well is the mazda 3, which is about $500 back to par. ( due to good milage )
That is how it is out here in cali. Just be glad you do not have a ford .. .. $4000-$5000 back of book!!!! Ouch!!

I went to intelliprice and did my 04 Yellow 6pd with leather and 12,000 miles.
It said this:

$11,595 - $15,355

OUCH

have you checked edmunds as well? i hate to tell you but that's about as good as you'll get on trade-in. the prices you see them selling are the trade-in plus a profit they have to make. you're also not going to get much (if any) more by selling private party so i'd take the $17K.

When I went to a dealership last month to test drive a MS3 I had them appraise my 05 GT MT6 with 15,000 miles just for kicks. They came back with a low ball figure of $17,500. I told the salesman that was really low and they would have to do a lot better before I would even consider trading in on a MS3. I was kinda insulted by the offer. I was thinking my car would atleast get an offer of $19,500 from a dealer. The guy said they have an 04 with approx. 20k and have been trying to sell it for months. Since they had no buyers they just lowered the price to $16,000. I told him mine was not an 04 and it has less miles. He asked if there was anything he could do to earn my business and I said... "yeah, give me $21,000 for my car and we have a deal. He came back with an offer of $19,500.... same thing I had in mind the whole time. I told him never mind as I walked out the door. Dealerships love F.......G ppl every chance they get. If I were you I would post an ad in the local paper.

sell it upright yourself...you'll come a WHOLE lot closer to that $17.5 figure you wanted, maybe even more. But like mentioned, expect to grab your ankles if you trade it in.
