Another newbie to RX-8 world

Hey everyone!!! Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I just bought my 2004 RX-8 GT yesterday. I traded in my 2002 Dodge Ram Sport and my 1998 Ford Contour SVT on this car. And I just love this car. I hope to learn alot from everyone here about this car. I have had a 95 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, 95 Acura Integra GSR, and a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Spyder. So I do know my way around a car. But I have never ever ever ever been anywhere near a rotary engine. Peace! :ylsuper:

Wow... you gave up two cars for the Rx8?

DarkBrew 02-20-2007 07:51 PM

Welcome to the addiction.

And do not worry, rotaries are easy, they have very few moving parts.

Welcome, I used to have a 1st gen GSX.

welcome. as long as youre cool with the basics of a rotary (ie: gas mile age/ adding oil/no cold shut downs) its a great engine. some people knock it realiabilty but they are very reliable when not poorly F/I'd.

its a great car so go out and enjoy it

Welcome to the club hotrod90019.

Sounds like you go through your cars in a short time.

If you haven't already noticed it will be tough to find a car that drives as nice as the 8.

I have test driven cars since purchasing mine and had a really hard time finding a car for my wife. Most cars just can't measure up to how it feels driving it.

If you got it to turn into a horsepower monster then you may need to trade in another car it can be expensive building it up. Mazda did a great job of squeezing reliable horsepower out of it naturally aspirated.

sounds like you've been through a run of interesting cars. By the sound of your previous cars, it sounds to me like you'll appriciate this car.

Get her above 5K and listen to her purr! :-)

Congrat's from another noobie rx8 owner (2006 sport 6sp manual). Just need to add the remote radar detector (well car's 'Ticket me red').

Welcome to the addiction, and you guys would cry to know what I sold for the 8

Phantom Menace 02-21-2007 11:51 AM

Welcome. I gave up a pretty clean 1991 300ZX TT and a 2002 Yamaha R1 for my 8. Sometimes I miss them...sometimes I don't.

prescriptionmazda 02-21-2007 03:50 PM

Nice, don't I feel lame.

All I gave up was a '99 jeep wrangler.

Every day I don't miss it.
