Talking Another new owner

I finally got around to registering and making this post after weeks of lurking. Anyway I got an 04 velocity red 70k miles on it. I got it about a week ago, absolutely love the car. Considering I had an 01 accord coupe prior. I had gotten into a wreck, my car was lowered and I hit a camery and I basically went under it, it was totaled. That was my first car I took so much care for it and I was so emotionally invested in it I felt depressed for like a week. Insurance covered most of the cost of the 8, I had to pay like 300$ out of my own pocket after the deductible. Anyway so ive been working in the summer got about 800$ saved up by the time fall semester starts up ill have about 1300$ if I dont spend any of it. there are several things I want to do, im not sure which order, bc that 1300 is probably the most money ill have for a while, once classes start up I wont have a job anymore untill next summer rolls around, so I want to spend wisely.

These are the things im looking to do
-rims
-exhaust(cat, midpipe, intake)
-suspension
-lipkit?

I want to eventually do all of these things but its gonna take time, so im torn between the rims or exhaust

oh and here is my gal:

She looks gorgeous, and glad to hear you're alright after that, and that you came over to the light side.

But in all honesty, as having just gone through school and all that, I'd highly recommend waiting on doing anything. If anything, just work on keeping the maintenance up to date, save the rest for when you've got more money. I mean, feel free to scour the FS threads, you'll find some good deals every now and then you may really want to pick up, but for the most part, I'd try and save it until money really frees up. Trust me, two years back, that Spring Break, I spent nearly $2,000 on stuff for my Mx6, back before I had my Rx8. It gets crazy expensive.

first i would check plugs, ignition coils, and compression to make sure you have a good engine that will last long and as a precautionary measure I would get BHR ignition because i think stock ones dont last that long

Thanks for the responses

@MS Addict, yeah I just started college but fortunately im on academic scholarship so I don't have to worry about tuition (as long as I keep my GPA up). But my parents keep me tight with money, Im held accountable for every penny I spend, im not allowed to have a job while taking classes, so my only income is during the summer. Since I don't have a job during the year they pay for gas and any maintenance costs. So essentially what ever I make in the summer I can spend on what ever I want, being business owners they expect me to submit a budget report on where the money is being allocated(I dont know anyone else who has submit anything to their parents). So long story short Im wanting to get one thing from my list done this summer.

@wallets thank you for that suggestion! I will deff get those checked out.

@monchie rx8s look soo BA when lowered but here in bama too many damn hills ill be scraping everywhere I go.

@Mazurfer thank you for those links, ive read through those before I bought her but I appreciate the links.

Haha, my parents would ask the same if I had borrowed their money. You're lucky though, I'm footing the loans for my 8 right now, and my school loans(Enough for a couple more Rx8's), but my parents did let me move back in, because I was utterly broke.

I'd still keep a good bit of the money, because you never know what'll pop up for sale around here, something you normally wouldn't have bought, that you'd never seen, and all of a sudden they knock it down a hundred or two...

I just know how easily any of that stuff can add up to being $1,000, or more. Hell, I wouldn't mind the MS kit, but it's several thousand for the authentic kit.

Oh yeah I know some guys who are paying out the *** in student loans. I also live at home, its good and bad thing you know what Im talking about. I think im going to lurk the fs threads for a while. After spending cash on the car I want to lay low for a while so I wont get lectured on how much money im spending, even if its my own money I worked for lol.

Congrats on the new ride. First off, get clear corners. Cheap, great improvement.
