Allow myself to introduce... myself

My name is Alexander, but on the forums you can call me mTheory (based on the name of my design firm).

I am the proud new owner of '05 pearl white base RX8 with 55k on the odo! For months I've been obsessively devouring the information on this site, and it was instrumental in my decision making process when buying an 8. It took me 3 months of intensive car hunting, but two weeks ago I finally found exactly what I was looking for.

A white, light and basic 8

A lot of fellow car guys (even RX8 guys) complain about the power-plant leaving much to be desired, but I find the power delivery to be quite satisfying. Mind you I just got out of a 2 year lease with a Hyundai Eblahntra... so this thing feels like a rocketship. However, starting out as an Auto-x racer at age 15 turned drifter in my 20's, I have only ever owned fast cars (Turbo Miata, Two SR powered S14's, a 340whp Porsche 951, and an '04 STi.) With that said, I'm not disappointed.

The thing that drew me to this car was the beautiful design, superb handling (reminds me of my miata) and 4-door utility. Not to mention having grown up with, and influenced by my father who raced RX7's throughout the 80's... I have always wanted a rotary of my own.

So needless to say I am quite happy with the decision I've made. And with the help of the rx8club I look forward to learning more about my car, modding it to my needs (canyon carving... for now) and interacting with all my fellow rotor-heads.

If anyone is ever down to meet up at Cars n' Coffee in Irvine Ca, I try to make it whenever I can. Just PM me.

Now on to the modding... first up are some Tein S-Techs and new wheels/tires. The previous owner set the car up with nice looking but anemically skinny 18"x 7.5" wheels. So grip is on the agenda. I'm already through 28 out of 362 pages of the "Will it fit" thread, and am honing in on my ideal set-up.

Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself since I'll be spending a lot of time here.

Cheers!

Welcome to the club
BTW white is the fastest

mTheory 11-30-2012 05:22 PM

Precisely! Because white reflects the light rather than holding on to those pesky photons like colored cars I figure I have approximately a .000003275 gram weight savings advantage over those who prefer pigment.

Razz1 11-30-2012 05:27 PM

Excellent!

Welcome, and I am your neighbor.

December is busy but perhaps in Jan we can go to cars and coffee

mTheory 11-30-2012 05:35 PM

Sounds good Razz1. C n' C needs more of an RX8 presence. Let me know when your down.

WCS is a closet VR lover !

Welcome aboard! Nice ride. If I buy another 8 it will be CWP or WWP but in fact VR's are the fastest.

mTheory 12-01-2012 02:48 AM

Thanks 9krpmrx8

Sure there may be more boosted VRs, but admit it... CWP and WWP are far sexier.

Welcome!
You can't be faster than a Velocity Red... come on, the name says it!
Of course a Winning Blue model would win in the end... but just because the Velocity Red DNF'd :)

monchie 12-02-2012 03:49 PM

Welcome to the addiction!

Wolfe 12-02-2012 11:35 PM

Yellow is easily the fastest looking. And thats what counts.

Nah Ti Grey is fastest cuz Titanium is very strong and light, giving it the best chassis of all 8's

Please go back to school. Reading your poor grammar is as painful as being buttraped.

Jims5543 12-03-2012 03:41 PM

Anyone else read the entire original post in this voice?

I did!! Welcome aboard!!

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas.

Yeah Jims5543, You caught on to my subtle Austin Powers reference in the title... But now that you pointed it out I can't help but read my original post in Dr. Evil's voice. DAMMIT!

lta_ds_fs7 12-04-2012 12:03 PM

I like new buyers like you, mTheory...Not like the people who jump on the forum because they bought a "cool looking car", and have no idea it has a rotary engine.

Welcome
