Air Intake

Before you bitch me out, I tried the search engine, just about useless. Want recommendations for an air intake system, what about the sensor? thanks in advance, 2005 touring m.

You don't need to change the MAF sensor, most aftermarket intakes incorporate a place for it, and if they don't I wouldn't mess with it. The RX-8 is very picky with airflow readings.

There are a ton of threads on intakes here. May I suggest using the "Advanced Search" feature and searching by title. In general though, Racing Beat and Mazdaspeed/AEM both make well regarded intake systems to name a few. There are many others though, regardless though the power gain is ~3hp, and you're basically just deciding how much noise you'd like.

Do you want flashy parts to dress up your engine bay?
Get the AEM or Mazdaspeed intake.

Do you want huge performance gains?
Give up. The stock intake is well tuned and there is little to no gain to be had. Often you will get a rough idle with an aftermarket intake (REVI being the exception).
