I test drove one... and the guy drove it first, also. Interesting.... (thought I would contribute--first post w00t) I'm surprised the guy let me drive it, someone wrecked one earlier in the day.. plus I'm only 18..go figure:D

So many flooding problems posted must mean that mazda again has an ecu glitch. New rotary engines with perfect compression should not flood even when cold. They can/should be able to fix this problem pretty soon. With a programmable aftermarket ecu, my 13B does not flood under any circumstance. If I can do it, so can mazda!

OK - here's a question...
How warm is "warmed up enough" to prevent flooding upon subsequent start? Is 5 minutes OK (how about less?), or do you need to have the temp gauge move into the normal range? |
If the needle is up to the middle of the temp guage its fine, or if you wont want to wait that long, rev the motor to 3000 rpm for 10-15 seconds and turn it off immediately.
