Advance Keyless Entry Issue

I hate to say this but im beginning to really hate this car. Little issues here and there are beginning to really make me regret buying an rx8 (yes i said it).

So anywho i have a 2006 rx8 which comes with the Advance keyless entry. And theres a little "KEY" light that lights up green at the beginning saying its detecting the key in the proximity and red when its not.

So i went out today and started the car and the "KEY" light stayed red the whole car ride. It comes on when radio is on and when ignition is on positiion. Now everytime i drive the light is on and its solid red no flasshing no blinking.

So i go to get my spare key to try to see if it would do it with the spare and guess what. Its freaking missing from the spot i left it. Dropped my only key i had when i bought the car last and it whipped out the whole coding system. Had to go to mazda get 2 brand new keys and program both for 800 bucks. And i go to get the spare key (i havent used it since i got it for over a year probably) and its F***ING missing. Just my luck . Im pissed !!

Only time I've had a problem with the advanced keyless is when the battery needs to be replaced in it . I've always used the red key light as an indicator the battery in the remote is going . New battery and it goes away, but that's just my experience .

Is the red key light supposed to come on and stay if your battery is low in the remote ??

According to the manual,
"If the key warning light remains illuminated,do not continue to drive using the sdvanced key system.Park vehcile and use auxiliary key to continue to drive the vehicle.Have vehicle inspected as soon as possible"
That being said, when mine did that I replaced the batteries in both remotes . After I did it stopped and never came back . I figured I'd try the easiest/cheapest fix first before I took it in . I now swap out the batteries once a year it's cheap insurance,I was told by a mazda tech once that if the remote goes dead completely it has to be reprogrammed . Don't know if its true but don't wanna find out .

replaced the battery on the remote and same thing. Car locks and unlocks using the remote no problem. Starts up and drives but the RED KEY LIGHT stays on while the car is on. ALso notice the touchless entry (the little buttons on the door handle) arent working and the light on the remote blinks when i press the button

Had the same issue, was the trunk antenna that was bad. Dealer changed it for 300$ or you csn get one off ebay for 20$. Those antennas go bad because all the road dirt go inside the rear bumper and corrode the antenna a guess

You can drive your car normally but door buttons wont work

Can you post a link to the exact part ?? Is this something i could install myself ?

Personally i dont think tis right to have to pay for this as its a f*** up on mazdas part.
