You want an off-set as close as possible to 50mm which is stock.

Also, it is a waste of time not to replace the shocks.

You will have to pay for another alignment. If your ok with that ... then go for it.

There are plenty of people with wheels that heavy (I know you will notice a much rougher ride even if you don't track it), but please check on how stretched that 225 will be. I wish I had bigger than a 245 on my 9.5" so I'm sure a 225 would have a pretty good stretch. And 9" still is beyond the recommended width for the stock tire.

yea, honestly 225 on the 9" is going to be bad but like i said its only temporally. I was not planning on buying rims until summer along with the tires but since this happened i need to get the rims and the current tires are in great condition so i figure i can live with it for the time being.

I dunno if anything you could have your insurance company write you the biggest check you can get out of them, and then just buy an aftermarket set of rims, inspect everything for looseness, bends & damage and then repair it...and then just get a nice alignment. Personally I've got lifetime alignments. Cuz I tend to have to utilize them more then once.

well with a 1,000 deductible i would be just over it plus i personally know my insurance agent and i have helped him modify his car so we are friends and he was able to hook me up (19 yr old with a speeding ticket) for full coverage insurance for only 110 a month so im not in the business of screwing people over and from what everyone has said is that it looks like all i need is new rims and a alignment and possibly the pass rear strut if the alignment cannot fix the camber.

did you have each wheel/brake assembly checked for wobble on a lift? thats the only way I know of to find out what happened to your suspension.

you obviously didnt pay attention to us. Your claim will be well over 2k. That is not screwing anyone, thats the cost of the parts.

The wheels you have chosen are heavy and wide as hell for stock tires. Either buy bigger tires for the rear or choose some 8.5 all around or something.

Dont spend all your money before you check out every part of that cars suspension. Unless you just wanna settle for "i guess its ok" when you are spinning out of control down the interstate once your suspension snaps

okay by sayin this im tryin to be helpful..not rude.

buuut...u aint tellin me that you are going to buy a set of wheels and alignment without even checking out the suspension in full? I mean if you have a lot of suspension parts needed then if it was me I'd spend the $1k for your deductable. How does it have anything to do with being nice?? Thats what insurance is for my friend

i have been told by several people if the axle gets bent the car will never be the same. Thats what i was worried about however there is no visible damage to anything. The rims dont even looked damaged, you can look at the car and the only thing you might notice that seems weird is the pass rear wheel tilts in some (3 degree camber). Besides that there is nothing. I honestly think i just lucked out with the angle that i hit the curb and how i handled it. I am not driving now for the time being for fear of actually doing some differential damage since the rims are so out of balance.

I know your not trying to be rude but im doing everything i can to keep this off the record because i do not want my rate to go up which it most definitively would. After i get the rims and alignment i am going to take the car to mazda and have them look at it and warranty the suspension stuff that needs it. (I also have the hook up in the service department).

well obviously you're the one that has an idea on how to handle your situation first.

but what im sayin is ive been there done that with this car more then once, and the last time I smacked a curb going 3 or 4 mph. When my car was put on a lift you could grab the wheel and wobble it. if you follow the wobble you can tell if a tie rod was bent or broke or loosened or if part of the assembly or axle was damaged.

also im pretty sure if you replace an axle properly on any vehicle and torque everything properly...it should be good as new..

Ok i will jack the car up again tom and check but if i remember correctly last time i really was being rough with the rims and suspension parts and nothing was moving. When driving behind the car it looks like the back rims are about to fly off because they wobble but is the rim thats bent. The camber possibly will be fixed simply by the alignment being done but if not like i said i will take it to the dealership and have some warranty work done on her.

Thanks for all the input guys i really appreciate it and when i jack it up tom what if anything specifically should i look for?

I went to two pro service shops before I purchased the parts and then went to intellitech auto school (lol) to have my buddy do the work for me.

But anyway what the pros do is try wobbling each wheel while looking at the suspension components while they're doing it. so basically if the wheel tilts outward on the right when you push down on the left then you can follow that and see whats causing that. Most of everything is all part of individual assemblies.

here is the FSM for suspension http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/manuals/RX...Suspension.pdf

here is the entire manual

well i just got back from out of town and will be ordering the rims on monday. Today i lifted the car and checked everything over extremely thoroughly and all the suspension pieces all are in perfect place with 0 movement and none are bent. Looks like i lucked out and will just need the rims and alignment.
