Accessory orders?

I found my 8 in stock, less the rear deck spoiler and splash guards. I took delivery on 8/8 but the accessory items have yet to show up. My salesman says Mazda is having problems getting accessories and hinted that their "system" was overloaded. "They are very concerned and tracking individual orders" Anyone ordered a spoiler and received it? Any news on accessory order handling? BTW, just over 2K miles, 18 MPG, less than 1/2 quart oil consumption, no cruise problems, keeping it!

Took delivery on 7/30 - ordered spare tire kit (showed up yesterday), appearance package, mud guards, and polished accents. As of yesterday, the news is "maybe" by the end of September.

You're not alone..........

Accessory Limbo

I tried ordering the rotary accents earlier this week from Trussville. I got a nice email confirming the very same . . . late September to early October! Sheesh! Good luck to y'all!

I ordered my spoiler 7/24. Finally, it came in yesterday. Being installed today.

I didn't have the same experience.. I ordered the fender strakes and bra, and it shipped the very next morning.. It arrived at my house 4 days later.

I guess it all depends on their inventory. Maybe you should call ahead before ordering.

Those things are readily available. It's the painted parts tht are taking so long to arrive.

Got my splash guards, CD changer, and polished wheels within a week of ordering them (at about the end of July). Things may have backed up since then. I've been waiting on touch-up paint for about two weeks . . . .

The Good Stuff Takes a while

I had a lot of options and the things I wanted the most were the spoilers and the Rotary Accent Package. I got the others options rather quickly but Spoiler and Rotary Accent Package were ordered Aug 16 2003 and may get them at the end of September (Maybe if I am lucky).

Do not even BEGIN to complain about accessories not being available. At least you have the DAMN car!!! ;-)

Charles Cope 09-05-2003 05:41 AM

Not complaining. But you're right! I was very lucky - I saw three 8's sitting in the Mazda lot for the first time, went to the Mazda site and "created" my perfect car. I found it (less accessories) in Livonia MI (150 miles away). The next day I did a test drive at my local dealer, found that the one in Livonia was available and put down my deposit. The dealer called me the next day and said the Livonia dealer's son was driving it, put 600 miles on it. Dealer assured me, Oudai :) was an adult, non-smoker and understood it was a car in inventory (yah, right!). I told him if it was delivered looking like it just arrived off the boat, I'd take it. It did, I've had no problems at all. Now has 2,200 miles on it, been to Grattan Raceway (a great, technical road track) and other than 3.0 vs 2.7 lock-to-lock, handles better than my '88 GTU.

Hope you get your's soon! cc
