abs/tcs lights

Hey guys, recently had an issue pop up in the rx8. Out driving the other day and the abs/tcs lights both came on. The systems themselves are not working nor is the cruise control engaging. I did a search and found a thread with some things to check which I will do so prior to going to the stealership.

The only thing that has me puzzled and i haven't seen it mentioned is that when i start the car the lights are not on, can actually drive it for a bit without the lights on and the systems are working (traction kicked in leaving my driveway in some snowy slush). However after a few min the lights come on and the systems are disabled.

Any thoughts? Im going to reset the ecu tomorrow, and check fuses. Im also waiting on a code reader in the mail before i bring it in and pay 100 bucks to get it scanned.

Other variables, just had cat and ignition system changed however I've put almost 1000km on it prior to problem. Just changed front running light, also same amount of distance prior to issue. Temperature has been about -5c out and I have driven through a fair amount of snow and slush (not to the point that the car has troubles getting through).

Cheers!

I would check the connections.

The car is a m/t. I reset the ecu and tcs on further inspection the abs and tcs lights only come on once the brake pedal is full depressed. Thoughts?

So ive troubleshot the problem somewhat and this is what I've come up with. The abs system is throwing an error because the break lights are not lighting up due to the stop fuse being blown. However after replacing the fuse a few times each time i engage the breaks it blows the fuse. I unplugged the 3rd break light as I'm aware its a common culprit and its still blowing the fuse. My thoughts are an issue with the break peddle switch possibly.
