About bringing car to RE Amemiya for a tune lol?
 

Guys just want to know that is it possible to bring my car to Japan and let amemiya shop do a tune? We all know they are the best at rotary tuning. If possible How can I make it happen? What's the process? How much would it cost?

If you have to ask you can't afford it.

Why bother to go through all of the expenses for a tune when it has been done domestically? Im just not understanding what the gain is here.

Because its "cool" to have an amemiya tune, and they are the "best" at it.

I didn't see RE Amemiya in GT racing.

Seen many vids about amemiya tuning, touge monsters n stuff, I like how they focus on overall balance of the cars, it's a personal preference XD, but seems it's not cheap, but not viable?

I think you need to call them and ask. You're not going to get a serious answer here. Let us know what you find out!

This is only viable if you live in Japan in my opinion. Your profile doesnt mention where you are from, but Im guessing your not. It would be super expensive to ship your car there, and if you tried to do it remotely you would either need to know japanese or know someone that does. Seems like a pipe dream to me personally... but, prove us wrong!

If it really had to be done by them, it would probably be cheaper to fly somebody over than it would be to ship the car over and back.

OK so this is a pretty useless thread. First you would have to coordinate shipping for your car to Japan and figure cost for that plus documentation for customs and of course you want to insure your car. Once it arrives you will need to coordinate and pay to have your car picked up and again customs paperwork on the other side. Shipping takes about two weeks depending on customs and other bs if you ship by ocean. Then you get your car tuned, then you would need to coordinate shipping back to port. Then customs paperwork again. Then two more weeks of shipping back to, then more customs paperwork. Its a lot of work for just a tune and not even considering all the money you need to shell out for just transport. Transport alone might run you approximately 6-8k that's already half the value of your car right there not including insurance all the customs fees you would have to pay plus paying for the tune and then if you're not happy with the tune you're screwed. At the end of the day it's just not worth the headache and aggravation just for a personal preference. But her if you have the money to throw away and do it then by all means go for it. At the end of the day it's your car.

But... It's RE-Amemiya, it's JDM yo. :scratchhe

Yeah and I am sure RE has a ton of experience flashing and a way to flash a USDM ECU, :rolleyes:

I think the OP got the answer:

To summarize:

- Best bet would be to contact RE-A directly to inquire
- Chances are it will be incredibly expensive
- It just isn't feasible, and unless you are getting RE-A to actually rebuild the engine, the gains are probably not worth the cost
