# of 8 owners who have/haven't read owners manual

Simple Question:
How many people that own a Rx-8 have read or not read the manual.

Genom 11-04-2003 09:37 AM

Big yes. About 16 times :D

MazdaManiac 11-04-2003 09:53 AM

I had already read it cover to cover BEFORE I bought the car.
I have since re-read most of it and I am constantly picking sections in a semi-random fashion to ensure that I know all the details.
I will do the same with the shop manuals when they arrive.

Cover to cover, baybee, both before and after taking delivery.

Why anyone would take delivery of a high-tech piece of machinery like this and not RTFM is beyond me.

I flipped through the pages cover to cover. If I question something(navigation system), I search the manual.

I read it cover to cover which took me a little while. The damn things get bigger every time I buy a car.

I was also very amused with the warnings. They sounded like advice from Hagakure's "Way of the Samurai". It really put me in the mood of having bought a quintessentially Japanese car. COOL!

There's a manual?

bobclevenger 11-05-2003 12:47 AM

Yep. Online before I bought it, and on paper after. I knew more about the car than the salesman did!

MyRxBad 11-05-2003 10:18 AM

I totally agree. My car is on order (for Mar/April) and I've already read it once.

Lookin' kinda lop-sided.
Cover to cover here too.

jtimbck2 11-05-2003 09:50 PM

I can't say I've read it cover to cover...it's a freakin' REFERENCE book, not a novel! ;) But I have consulted it several times.

WayneOsWorld 11-05-2003 09:58 PM

I read it, but I still learned a few things here in the forums.

You mean there is other stuff in there other than warnings! I was disspointed it didn't have full instructions on performing drifting manouvres, as per the brochure...

You can't operate the navigation system without first spending time with the manual!

I opened it only to look at the maintenance schedule. That was it.
