8 Heaven

I have been lurking here for awhile and really appreciate all of the great info you guys share. My quest for an 8 culminated with the purchase of an '06 copper red Shinka in October. The car has exceeded my expectations even after 2 years of anticipation.

We moved from Southern California to the Ozarks in NW Arkansas a year ago and are loving it. As an added bonus this area is great 8 country. A mile or less in any direction from my house and I am on light traffic twisty 2 lane roads winding through awesome scenery.

I was looking for a used 8 primarily for the value a used car can offer but the final obstacle with my wife came down to color choices. She really wanted a maroon/burgundy color. I found some pics of a copper red and showed them to her. The deal was done and amazingly enough the nearest Mazda dealer (45 miles) had one on the lot. We drove over, went for a test drive and drove it home!

I have a couple of pics in the vBGarage and will get some more including the roads and scenery around here in the spring.

I recently ordered some touch up paint online. You were told they would send you some?

Nice that you can keep your car off the salt. We finally had a break with high 60's down here.

Copper red is a very nice color. Welcome to the club and enjoy your Alcantara seats.

You bet. What I really need is some way to mount my video camera.

Just as soon as I finish some pesky house mods I plan to research the best option(s) for reducing front end dive/roll in hairpins. Any pointers in the area are welcome.

Thanks!
