8 Driver Side Mat
Hey guys,
I'm starting this thread because I have this irritating mat on my driver side. It always bunches up whenever I get in, or out of my 8 :banghead:. It has a pressed brad in the rear center of the rug, but there is no hook under the driver seat to hold it in place. Does anyone else have this same issue? Or do you know if i can get a hook installed somewhere? Or is there a place to purchase one? Would really appreciate some help on this one. |
There is a peg on the floor to hold the mat from the factory. Your best bet is to see if any of the guys parting out there cars in the FS section have one. If not you can check with some of the vendors in the vendors section, or call your local mazda dealership to get another one.

I have a manual, I've read it. I don't see mats, or the pin mentioned anywhere. Certainly not in the table of contents, the interior section, nor the index.

Make sure the floor mats are hooked on the retention pins to prevent them from bunching up under the foot pedals: Using a floor mat that is not secured is dangerous as it will interfere with the accelerator and brake pedal operation, which could result in an accident. Do not install two floor mats, one on top of the other, on the driver's side: Installing two floor mats, one on top of the other, on the driver's side is dangerous as the retention pins can only keep one floor mat from sliding forward. In using a heavy duty floor mat for winter use always remove the original floor mat. Loose floor mat(s) will interfere with the foot pedal and could result in an accident. When setting a floor mat, position the floor mat so that its eyelets are inserted over the pointed end of the retention posts. 4-8 Before Driving Your Mazda |
