Looks like a couple of them have more detail to the repair.

They replaced my clutch slave cylinder a couple of weeks ago, instead of the old method of taking it off and cleaning it. A new one is definately easier and faster.

I wonder if that is what was wrong with mine? They didn't say they did that, but my clutch felt like they described and now it feels like new again and works great! :)

For allegedly doing nothing my car is running great, like it always did, after I took it in last. No more burning smells, mileage is up to normal range again (got my usual 75 miles by first quarter used mark), car shifts nice and smooth again, and feels extra peppy. The only thing I have now is that it starts a little bit harder than it used to.

I can live with the harder starts, especially since it does still start. LOL It just takes ever so slightly longer. Otherwise everything is great. :)

Mine only did it when I was in stop and go traffic during the summer. It would feel like the clutch pedal wasn't even hooked to anything; it would go right to the floor with almost no pressure at all. Since I had it replaced around the first of november, I'll have to wait about 7 months to find out if it still does it.

The dipstick TSB procedure is totally different from the original. The original was simply an insert of a piece of plastic insulation into the tube. Now they're doing a lot more.

On the "Cranks/No Start" TSB, They are very specific in the TSB about approved batteries, so you can do the inspection yourself... I don't remember that from the original. They also tell you how to ID a starter that needs replacing. Don't recall that either.

I noticed mine doing it after I took it in for the recall, and the weather was starting to get colder by then. It also started to not want to go into 2nd gear when all this started. Now it feels nice and solid and shifts smoothly again. I think this was basically what my problem was, with the exception of the hot weather part. LOL

Now, I just need to add some air to all my tires. My tire light started blinking about two miles from home last night, so I checked my air when I got home (after 1 a.m. and in pouring down rain) and my tires are all pretty much uniformly low; 3 at 29 psi and one at 28.5 psi, so I'm pretty sure the 28.5 psi tire is the one that started off the blinking. So, that either means a stop at the gas station air machine or wait until tomorrow so I can borrow my stepdad's portable air compressor, which I could have done today had I been able to wake up before 5:30 when he left for work. :(

It is so radically changed and does so much that it seems to me that it should be a recall and not just a TSB. It is a complete reworking of the engine ventilation system. It is a big repair for a smallish problem.

You have a 12v air compressor in your trunk... :)

NICE! The one I just noticed they updated was about a sweaking clutch. Mine has been driving me crazy for the last 3 weeks; now I can finally take it in for a fix.
