2010 RX-8 - Possible owner soon

Hello!

I've been doing my research on the 8 for a little while now as I've been looking to buy one. I stumbled across a 2010 sport coupe with 11000 miles and 2 previous owners for $19,998. Should that be a red flag at all? I've seen the carfax with only things being mentioned such as detailing, and the trade-ins to the dealership.

I've read the stickies, so I have a general idea of what to expect and what to ask, but I have a question about the Mazda Engine warranty. The 2004-2008 models got the 8 year/100,000mile warranty, so is that the baseline warranty of the 2010 model? Admittingly, I haven't searched too hard for the answer to this question because it just came to mind.

Has anyone with a 2010 had any issues yet?

I'm going Friday to check this car out, and would like to be well prepared with questions when I get there!

Thanks in advance!

He didn't say what model or if 6sp/AT, but that doesn't seem to be too bad of a price.

Carfax is not 100% accurate. I think carfax is a waste of time and money. Don't get me wrong, carfax does not have all the records on many certain vehicles.

This

I almost paid that much for my 40th AE However, it was the car I wanted, and it was close to home. So I was ok with the price.

But mine came with the pre-owned certified warranty

They continued the 8/96k engine core warranty beyond '08. All of the SIIs are covered by it, as well.

I've only got 6300mi on my '10, but it's been smooth sailing so far.

Approaching 50,000 miles. So far, the car has been flawless except for the dash pod rattle, which was an easy fix.

I'm at about 37k miles now and the only thing that actually broke was the drives side visor, which was used only a few times. There are a few annoying rattles in this car but I don't always hear them.

I checked the compression about 7k miles ago and it was still high, so the engine is lasting so far. I might sell it at 75k/80k miles only because I do not want to pay for an engine myself if something were to go wrong after 100k miles. Not sure yet though, I still have many years of enjoyment before that will happen.
