Actually depending on how many miles it has that sounds like a great deal...... I just traded in my 04 rx8 for my 08 rx8........ and when i drove by the dealer a week later, they actually had it out on the lot for 17000 which was 1500 dollars more than what i paid for it a year ago and with 20,ooo miles more...... Its an 04 with 62,ooo miles. So any way depending on how many miles your 06 has on it that seems like a great deal.

This 2006 has 19,000 miles. That's it. it looks brand new.

DarthRX8 09-06-2008 05:25 PM

I bought my 05, GT almost a year ago. It had 14K miles on it and I got it out the door with an extended bumper to bumper warranty for 22500. So that is a pretty good deal.

kersh4w 09-06-2008 05:48 PM

no, its not a good deal. check out the "FOR SALE" section of these forums for a good deal.

this is a good deal.

damn...you win. That is craziness.

rglbegl 09-06-2008 06:56 PM

If you are serious about the car let me know.
I happen to know that dealership pretty well. :)

The deal is not bad at all. Do you remember who you spoke to when you went in?

Marklar 09-06-2008 07:35 PM

I kept an eye on used 8s for a long time before buying mine. That deal seems fair from what I've seen, not super low but not bad at all for a dealership car. You'd probably have to buy from an individual to get better.

If it has the color, options, etc. that you want, I'd say go for it.

One word of caution: check the trunk for the emergency flat tire repair kit. It should be strapped in to the rear of the trunk on the right side. I didn't know to look for it and after reading the manual I discovered that it was missing. Doh! I guess the previous owner wanted to keep the air compressor or something. Oh well, at least he/she left me the key to the wheel locks!

FWIW: I drove the same trim (same color) but an '05 with 15k miles at a Mazda dealer in Raynham, MA the other day--asking price $19,995. Also immaculate.

So if you are going through John Hine Temecula mazda then you are probably getting a pretty good deal! thats where I just bought my rx8 it was the one that Bill the vice president of mazda drove for 3000 miles it was their performance edition with the mazda speed intake and mazdaspeed exhaust. by the way I would suggest both of those if you plan on doing anything to it. the exhaust sounds awesome. Rick Germon was the sales guy who helped me.... really nice guy i would ask for Him.

^^^^
Funny
I have driven your car

23109VC 09-07-2008 12:05 PM

i test drove that black one too. nice car. it was just more $$ than i wanted to spend... intake/exhaust sounded awesome.

so what did you pay for the black one Lucky??

Mr. Pockets 09-07-2008 12:22 PM

For reference, I paid $15,900 for my '05 GT with 24k miles on it in March. Four grand for one year newer doesn't sound like a good deal to me, but what do I know. These cars drop in value like a stone.

23109VC 09-07-2008 02:28 PM

pockets-

did your car have appearance package, spoiler, and nav?

this car is loaded. i know these things don't command a 4k increase in price..but one model year newer is good for a grand at least. the other stuff maybe another grand? was you car identical in terms of equpment?

REsuperD 09-07-2008 07:18 PM

imho, this 19.9k for this car is not a *good* deal per se. i've seen so many 8's going for so cheap, and a month ago when many dealers still had new '08s when '09s started to ship, they were blowing them out with prices a bit more than this. that said, this is not a bad price or a rip-off, just not terribly cheap. 18k would be more reasonable. but if you like it and can afford it, it's worth what it's worth to YOU

kersh4w 09-07-2008 09:46 PM

yeah, its not a bad deal. its good, its just not GREAT.

tell you can do XXk (18,18.5,19k w/e you want) after you have them talking to you for an hour. if they refuse, leave your number on a card and walk out.

rglbegl 09-07-2008 09:55 PM

If you really want the car, let me know.
Shoot me a PM.

CyberPitz 09-07-2008 10:31 PM

I got jipped a bit, due to me having no credit and only being able to get certain ones. 07 sport, 8500 miles, 23k out the door

kersh4w 09-07-2008 10:38 PM

thats not terrible i think. not great. i'd say thats about average.

04RX8man 09-08-2008 12:32 PM

yeah sounds like a good deal to me
